PDW Posted 5 August , 2007 Share Posted 5 August , 2007 Almost finished 'Tip and Run', about the war in Africa and by Edward Paice. I recommend it. Mainly a military history. Good battle maps. Covers all African campaigns of 1914-18 but naturally focuses on the most important-that in German East Africa. Peter
Dolphin Posted 5 August , 2007 Share Posted 5 August , 2007 Peter Tip and Run was the subject of some earlier discussion on the Forum; see http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...16&hl=paice I'll stick with my assessment that it's as good an account of the campaign as we're going to get, but it could have been improved with better maps. PDW Posted 6 August , 2007 Author Share Posted 6 August , 2007 Gareth Yes, I should have said good battle maps for the first half of the book. Then he seems to lose interest in them.
