This may be a needle in a haystack request but as thought I would try and ask an expert on the 23rd (Ist Sportsman's) Battalion Royal Fusiliers . I am looking for the names of the chaps in this photo. My chap is the slim lad 3rd from the left who was killed in action on 13th November 1916. According to his diary and the date on the back of the photo it was taken in June 1915 at Hornchurch. He states he was in 'D' section of the Left Flank Co and had started training as a signaller.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Balbeggie.

My relative was with the 24th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, the sister battalion to the 23rd Bn, and he was wounded also on the 13th November 1916 up on the Redan Ridge.

Regards Andy
