n cherry Posted 26 June , 2008 Share Posted 26 June , 2008 Anyone got any suggestions as to easily available 'decent' books on this campaign? I believe there are a couple of Battleground Europe books on this front....are they any good as a starter for 10?

paul guthrie Posted 26 June , 2008 Share Posted 26 June , 2008 BE Asiago is by my friend Francis McKay and good and quite useful on the ground, I've been twice. There is another by a man and wife, can't remember name, has all the information but is dry dry dry! Will take a look at home.
Chris_Baker Posted 26 June , 2008 Share Posted 26 June , 2008 I wouldn't start with the BE volumes if you want to understand the campaign. Try > George Cassar "The forgotten front: the British campaign in Italy 1917-1918" > John and Eileen Wilks "The British army in Italy 1917-1918" > The volume of the Official History, which is very good. You might find this MA dissertation interesting too: http://www.firstworldwar.bham.ac.uk/edisse...issertation.pdf

Greenwoodman Posted 26 June , 2008 Share Posted 26 June , 2008 Missed out the last three.
