susan kitchen Posted 9 October , 2008 Share Posted 9 October , 2008 I have just read about a new book Called The Diary and Pictures Of a Wartime Artist. They are the Drawings of unsung War hero Len Smith. Len was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers and risked his life to to draw his detailed sketches. The Army "Top Brass" used the drawings to plan their attacks. Len recieved no recognition or a medal for the extraordinary risks he took. He died in 1974 aged 83. The book is compiled by his Great Nephew. Seen some of the drawings they are beautiful. Susan
