n cherry Posted 12 October , 2008 Share Posted 12 October , 2008 See a previous recent thread in this section about a book by Corelli Barnett....also a bit older I have a book from the 1970's called War in the Trenches by Alan Lloyd that isn't too bad for 'general stuff.....however I'm sure there are various general books out there..... the bigger Waterstones and Borders usually have a reasonable Great War secton...... gem22 Posted 13 October , 2008 Share Posted 13 October , 2008 If you are prepared to stretch the parameters why not try Arthur Banks Military Atlas of World War One, combined with The Great War by John Terraine; and possibly A Photohistory of World War One by Philip J haythornthwaite. None are new and one is paperback but in combination they contain all the maps and photos you need to start with. Garth
