I am looking for any information anybody can provide on the fate of this man, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. His division fought at Tannenberg during WW1.

Hello,

According to what I found, Leo Sontag was already replaced at the head of the 41st Division in September 1914.

I have found a few German generals with the name Sontag (and some more with the nam Sonntag), so I can't say anything about his further carreer for the moment.

Do you know anything more?

Jan

I know that Leo Sontag (died in the fire bombing of Dresden to the best of my knowledge) is my Great Grand Father and that there were a few other peopel from my family in the war, Leo Sonntag's son for example was under his command, Oberst Sonntag. I don't know about the double N thing I think it was changed to be more modern. Anyways any help I could get on any Generals or Soldiers with the same last name would be greatly apperciated.
