OpsMajor Posted 23 October , 2008 Author Share Posted 23 October , 2008 Barry Thanks. I have now been given some more information that he was 28276 Pte and he was in the 6th Reserve Cavalry (which doesn't mean a lot to me) was that Royal Scots or is that info incorrect? amelialongcroft Posted 23 October , 2008 Share Posted 23 October , 2008 I can't find an MIC to match both name and reg number on Ancestry. Could this be your man?
OpsMajor Posted 23 October , 2008 Author Share Posted 23 October , 2008 Amelia - thanks but don't think so. The info I have been given is the AVL for our village (Quinton Northamptonshire) which shows the number and regt above. Krs Mike
amelialongcroft Posted 23 October , 2008 Share Posted 23 October , 2008 Could he have been in the Northamptonshire Yeomanry, which became part of the 6th Reserve Cavalry? The Royal Scots Greys don't appear to have been part of the 6th Reserve, based on the info in the links below: Info on Royal Scots Greys Info on Northants Yeomanry I'm sure one of the forum experts will be along soon to help: I happened to be footling around on Ancestry so thought I'd have a look for your man, but am failing to locate him in the military records.
