steelbonnet Posted 15 November , 2008 Share Posted 15 November , 2008 Hi can anyone help with notes on medal index card to 17879 Herbert Robinson HLI. Here is what I can make out, first group in 2 lines:- "taken on charge CRV. 563 ** 11-6-20 2032/ adt" " **** IV 532/A ** 19-6-20. 2032 adj" next " Rerested" or "Revested" " for misconduct. Auth X @ 16D" What do the various groups of numbers and letters refer to? Gordon
mmm45 Posted 15 November , 2008 Share Posted 15 November , 2008 " Rerested" or "Revested" " for misconduct. Auth X @ 16D" Could these read Forfeited for Misconduct? If you could post the MIC online it would be easier to decypher Ady
max7474 Posted 15 November , 2008 Share Posted 15 November , 2008 Reverted would be more sensible. namely reverted to the lower rank.

MACRAE Posted 16 November , 2008 Share Posted 16 November , 2008 had another look and the word is " Reverted " thanks for the suggestion, and fast. Gordon If only they had been type written then would save us a lot of time and bother decyphering short of going to Bletchly park . Dan
