I wonder if anyone has any information on a DCM winner with the RFA whos surname was Lawler. He was awarded it late on, possibly even after the war. He was my G-Grandad and I am interested to find out more about him. Any help would be brilliant.

All the best,

Tim

Re your Grandfathers DCM, Number 42154, Signaller, C.T.Lawler, D Battery 71st Brigade, citation date for his DCM is 11th March, 1920.

Found in Recipients of The Distinguished Conduct Medal 1914 - 1920 by R.W.Walker,

hope this helps.

The citation for 42145 Sig. C T Lawler, D/71st Bde RFA from the LG 11 Mar 20 reads as follows:

"His coolness and devotion to duty whilst under very heavy hostile fire have on many occasions during the period 25th February to 11 November 1918, set an example to his comrades."
