I saw this book and was interested but not enough detail was provided.

Troop Horse and Trench the Experiences of a British Lifeguardsman of the Household Cavalry Fighting on the Western Front During the First World War 1914-18

LLOYD R.A

Does anyone know which Life Guards Unit did this man serve in?

Household Composite Cavalry first? Then..?

There is some confusion about this book. It was originally published in (from memory) the 1920s as "A Trooper in the Tins".

For some reason on recent(ish) republication it was retitled and given that which you quote. It is a particularly good 'rankers account' great descriptions of 1st Ypres.

Best regards

Many thanks to both of you. I should have check MICs I thought it was the modern auhor's name rather than a straight diary account. From the date of Entry he was clearly over with his main unit (1st LG; Not the Household Composite Reg). I was hoping it may be 2nd LG in which some 14th and 20th Hussars served but I may give it a go anyway.
