James A Pratt III Posted 22 January , 2009 Share Posted 22 January , 2009 Here are some ideas I have for books on WW I: The French 1915 offensives on the Western front not much on them The French Army on the Somme 1916. They only lost 200,000 casualities Battles on the Russian front 1914-1917. Also the Caucasian front The Revolt in Iraq 1920. This was the British Army's largest campaign in the between the World Wars period. You would of thought someone would have written a book on it considering all the current trouble there. You could try "The Insurection in Mesopotamia 1920" by Lt Gen A.L. Haldane (352p. 1922) Republished by the IWM and Battery Press in 2005. ISBN 1 904897 16 9 or 0 89839 339 6. James A Pratt III Posted 23 January , 2009 Author Share Posted 23 January , 2009 I managed to find a 1922 original copy of Haldane's book in a college library during a out of town trip. I read it in 2003 during the time of the US invasion and the early occupation/insurgency period.
