Tomkinson Posted 29 January , 2009 Share Posted 29 January , 2009 The attached picture shows Gnr.Alfred Cookson RFA recovering from wounds. He was at the V.A.D. Hopital, Leeswood (?) Hall, Mold, North Wales in August 1916 having served in France with 49 Division BEF earlier that year. The Hall has long white gates as evidenced by another picture post card in the collection. I do not have any details of wounds but the stick would certainly indicate assistance required with walking. He had earlier been treated at a hospital in Warrington but again no details. DavoT Posted 31 January , 2009 Share Posted 31 January , 2009 Hi Mike, great picture, thanks for sharing. Was Alfred discharged as a result of his wounds or did he return to the front? Just curious. Cheers, David
