RFT Posted 5 April , 2009 Share Posted 5 April , 2009 Major Williamson's diary, recording his experiences in South Russia during the civil war period, was published in 1970 under the title "Farewell to the Don." Try as I may I have not been able to acquire a copy. If any member knows of a copy for sale would they please pm me. Many thanks Rob
TonyE Posted 5 April , 2009 Share Posted 5 April , 2009 Seventy odd copies available on Abe Books, priced from £6 upwards. Google Abe Books and go from there. Regards TonyE

Dolphin Posted 5 April , 2009 Share Posted 5 April , 2009 Rob It's a good read, though it leaves one with the conclusion that the effort of trying to make an effective fighting force from the Whites was doomed to failure. Regards Gareth
RFT Posted 5 April , 2009 Author Share Posted 5 April , 2009 Hi Gareth I think I may come to a similar conclusion. Perry Moore makes much of "Farewell to the Don" in "Stamping Out The Virus" and I have to say I am looking forward to reading my copy when it arrives.
