Capt John Martin MC Gordon Highlanders A Coy, killed in action at Arras 9th April 1917. He was killed whilst leading his men on an assault on an enemy machine gun nest. The war diary gives a graphic account of this action and details of Martin`s death, however, he received no medal for this act, a VC perhaps. Yet he got his MC for something and nothing??? A year or so earlier on the Somme. if anyone would like more information on him or would like to chat about him, then I`d very much like to hear from you.(I have a picture of him,to).

Gordon.
