Chris_Baker Posted 2 April , 2004 Share Posted 2 April , 2004 Can anyone tell me where the 5th Royal Scots went for their 1914 summer camp, from which they were hurriedly recalled?
Tim Godden Posted 4 April , 2004 Share Posted 4 April , 2004 Hi Chris, I have Postcard of it back in England I think. I am going back for a few days at the end of this week so I will scan it in for you. All the best, Tim
Tim Godden Posted 12 May , 2004 Share Posted 12 May , 2004 Hi Chris, Sorry for the delay. I have the postcard here in Germany now but my scanner is playing up. The name on the front of the postcard says Bellfield Camp. Once my scanner is working again I will post it. I do not know if that is the right one. It may be the camp to which they were sent after they were mobilised. The post mark reads, I think, 19th December 1917. The photo is definitely pre-/early war though as they are equiped with Long Lees and the webbing is a little bit hotch potch. I will post it as soon as I can and then you can make your own mind up. All the best, Tim
