verdun Posted 14 June , 2009 Share Posted 14 June , 2009 I have the MICs (two) of 10635 Pte. William SHORE, 2/Essex Regt., obtained from Ancestry - see attachment. On the second one it shows that this soldier was discharged from the army on November 6th 1918. Does anyone know what Para 592(xvi) might be referring to? Also, List K/772//2? Thanks HUGELY if you can help. Peter
ralphjd Posted 14 June , 2009 Share Posted 14 June , 2009 Well Para 392 (xvi) AO (Army Orders) is "No longer physically fit for war service" dont know para 592. List etc refers to the Silver War Badge roll held at Kew, not on line unfortunately. Ralph.
verdun Posted 15 June , 2009 Author Share Posted 15 June , 2009 Many thanks. In fact, I'm just wondering whether what I thought was a 5 might actually be a 3 on the card.
ralphjd Posted 15 June , 2009 Share Posted 15 June , 2009 Compared to the 5 in his service number it it a 3 with the upper stroke incomplete, his other card says xvi so it will be para 392. Ralph.

owen4256 Posted 15 June , 2009 Share Posted 15 June , 2009 He was wounded three times in the war so a fair assumption that it was disability due to wounds Clive
