georgthomas1916 Posted 22 June , 2009 Share Posted 22 June , 2009 Hello. Was wondering if the clamp-on bipod for the MG 08/15 a standard issue or was it a field expediant type that was made by armourers to replace the stamped or tubular versions when lost. I have seen alot of photos of gun crews with this type of bipod attached. Anybody have one? Thanks georg

Mark Finneran Posted 23 June , 2009 Share Posted 23 June , 2009 I am looking for one too :>) Here are some images of a local one owned by Belgian collector. He says they only came out in 1917 as a temp bipod. 1918 saw the use of the mauser AT rifle bipod pattern.
