Guest Guard 1 Posted 16 April , 2004 Share Posted 16 April , 2004 I have a victory medal to this soldier. I would like to find out some more information on him. I have his MIC which shows his name as Frederick A White and entitled to a 1915star trio and placed on class Z reserve 09/03/1919. He also saw service in the Labour corps service number 97710. The medal is named as above but on the MIC the rank of SJT is next to Labour corps. I've listed a few questions below. 1, Would he also have served as a SJT in the Berks regt? 2, MIC shows date of entry as France 07/08/1915 can we determin a battalion from this date? 3, Why would he transfer to the Labour corps? 4, The medal appears to be all bronze and not been guilded, it has a different texture or patina to any other victory medal I've seen. Why would this be? Were victory medals made by more than one factory? Any help would be great. Cheers Rowland.
