Guest Peter McGurk Posted 17 April , 2004 Share Posted 17 April , 2004 Only informationI have about my Grandfather's military service is a wedding certificate ( Glasgow 1918 ) where noted as his occupation was ..............."machine gunner". Both my Grandparents were born in Glasgow. I recall he being wounded ( twice ) but was not discharged because of the injuries. Advice as to the next step would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Sydney. Details from the marriage certificate of my Grandparents ( District of Calton, Glasgow, 6/3/1918) state the following as read-: Charles McGurk ( full name ! ) -- Foundary Labourer -- Private: Machine Gun Corps. Age: 23 Residence: 25 Rumford St; Glasgow. Married at : 17 Montieth St; Glasgow.( residence or Church address ??? ) Thin pickings I know !! Look forward to your organisation's advice. Thank you.
