Old Tom Posted 30 July , 2009 Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Hello, There seems to be something odd about the cap badge; at least it does not look like the last Gloster badge I recall seeing - but that was a long time ago! Old Tom

Promenade Posted 30 July , 2009 Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Hi Without doubt that is a Glos Regt Badge. Herbert Murless enlisted in Bristol on 20/4/15 in 2/4 (TF) Battalion Glos Regt as No 4382 and was subsequenly transferred to the 8th Glos Regt probably after being wounded or fallen ill. He was renumbered to 201322 in early 1917. His MM was gazetted 21/10/18 - checked the 8th Glos Regt war diary (very quickly as it is late) but could not find a mention of his award. Born in Mountain Ash he is listed in the Mountain Ash Record of War Service 1914-18 in Mountain Ash, Library Wales. I have no other information on him but I am sure the Glos Regt Museum would be pleased to hear from you! Regards Promenade
