Mark Hone Posted 19 April , 2004 Share Posted 19 April , 2004 The attack is described on pp 139-141 of 'Cheerful Sacrifice' by Jonathan Nicholls. He includes a first-hand account of FIBUA in Monchy by Lewis gunner Private Jim Beeston.
Ali Hollington Posted 19 April , 2004 Share Posted 19 April , 2004 I spotted a book in my loca libary covering the attack on Monchy le Preux. Pretty sure it was part of the Battleground Europe series. Ali
Mark Hone Posted 19 April , 2004 Share Posted 19 April , 2004 I had forgotten the 'Monchy' book in the Battleground Europe series. It has a very brief account of the action and also a description (and picture) of the reburial of 3 known and 24 unknown 13/RF men at Monchy Cemetery in 1998.
