Hi all,

Serjeant Robert Drinkall 9884

KIA 7/6/15

Awarded DCM, Gazetted 3 June 1915.

If anyone is reasearching the 3rd BN., Worcestershire Regiment I would be greatful for any infomation about this soldier.

Was he in the battalion prior to the war.

When did he become as Serjeant.

Where were they on 25/12/14.

Anything!

The 3/Worcs spent Christmas Day 1914 in the front-line trenches at Spanbroekmolen, near Wijtshaete in the Ypres Salient.

On the 7th June 1915 (the day your man died), they were manning the line between the Menin Road and Sanctuary Wood.

He (possibly) won the DCM for actions during an attack on Spanbroekmolen on 12th March 1915.
