kingsman64 Posted 19 April , 2004 Share Posted 19 April , 2004 Hi Everybody just started collecting again after a long lay off. Unbelievably I have just discovered a long lost postcard of my Great Grandfather while clearing my mothers belongings. Years ago I was told "oh yes he served in WW1, dont know anything else"! He is wearing RFC uniform in the picture tunic fastening diagonal just visable are the Royal Flying Corps shoulder titles, no wings though. At some stage it has been stuck to a piece of card!!!!! If I bend the backing card I can see M J Quinn 2nd Airman 2 Squadron BEF. I am going to attempt to carefully steam it off the backing card tonight as I can see part of a service number as well. I know he survived the war, but nobody knows where his medals are so major grovel........ has anybody got a trio or pair to 2AM M J Quinn I have swops or cash waiting. I would be willing to pay a very good price. Can I find an MIC by name without his number? Do not want to damage the photograph it is excellent. Thanks and best regards.
