Terry Carter Posted 20 April , 2004 Share Posted 20 April , 2004 I recently met a descendant of Birmingham born Sgt W Cox. He reckons he was awarded the MM and DCM whilst serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Could anyone out there with an interest in the regiment help me with this one please. Thanks Terry
Muerrisch Posted 20 April , 2004 Share Posted 20 April , 2004 7906 Pte W Cox landed F&F 11 Aug 1914 with 2RWF and qualified Pip Squeak Wilfred but did not apply for clasp. Survived I have no other record of him on my data bases, but the regimental medals expert has him Sgt awarded MM [only] LG 11 2 19 attached 14RWF. Says he was b. in Hockley. Not mentioned in 2RWF diary. Worth a try for DCM on LG site. If confirmed, pse let me know.
