Guest Posted 20 April , 2004 Share Posted 20 April , 2004 I would like to know if any Pal has information on the action at Ginchy involving the 1st/12th Bn (The Rangers) on 9 September 1916. I've read the accounts in The Somme Day by Day, Royal Fusiliers in The Great War (H C O'Neill) and British Battalions on the Somme. Are there other references that might be of use? I'd be grateful for any guidance. Thanks and regards, Ray Hooper
bmac Posted 21 April , 2004 Share Posted 21 April , 2004 There are three or four pages about it in the battalion history: The Rangers Historical Records by Wheeler-Holohan and Wyatt. Re-printed by Naval and Military Press, price £18.
Paul Reed Posted 21 April , 2004 Share Posted 21 April , 2004 The attack is also covered in my own book in the 'Battleground Europe' title Combles, published by Pen & Sword.
