Steve11 Posted 21 April , 2004 Share Posted 21 April , 2004 When looking up a Gunner in the RGA Medal Rolls I noticed several soldiers had the following comment in the Remarks column: 'Noted TAR' I think TAR were the letters although the T looked like a J in modern writing. Steve11 Posted 22 April , 2004 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2004 Territorial Army Reserve seems to be the answer Dick but I thought the Territorials were known as the Territorial Force until 1920/21. Maybe I'm wrong? Or could it be that the Medal Rolls were compiled at a late date and the new name was used retrospectively?
