Skipman Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 Just browsing ( as you do ) looking for some Divisional/Bn histories, and came upon this guy Who is Everard Wyrall, he has a might pen. Or is it a pen name? Cheers Mike
John_Hartley Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 MIke I know nothing about him apart form his prolific writing. I presume it's a real name. If you read a couple of his books, you'll see he writes very much to a formula. Nothing wrong with this of course, but it probably meant he could trot out his various commissions at a fair old rate. PhilB Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 There are indications that Reginald Everard Wyrall died in Dec 1932. If that is so (can someone confirm?) one assumes he must have had a team of writers working for him?
keithmroberts Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 I am sure that I have read somewhere that he did indeed have a team working for him. Keith
Steven Broomfield Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 Off the top of my head, I believe his history of the 50th (Northumbrian) Division was his last work.
Simon Jones Posted 5 September , 2009 Share Posted 5 September , 2009 When he died he had more than one in progress, including the King's Liverpools. I believe that during or shortly after WW1 he worked for the Army Historical Branch, hence he had access to War Diaries etc.
