Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 24 April , 2004 Share Posted 24 April , 2004 I recently posted a question in the Units & Formation section on the 105th Auxiliary Petrol Coy. I had lifted this unit and the number 373034 off the back of an old photograph showing a soldier standing in front of his truck using a UV light. Well today I managed to identify this soldier by an exhaustive search of the medal rolls as Pte Harold Stather. I was lucky enough to find a few pages of Stather's service record in the burnt records, although one page clearly stated '105th Aux Pet Coy (Agric)'... Interestingly Stather was called up in February 1918 and although medical category C3 could drive, so after 4 weeks basic was posted to France. He was demobbed in October 1919 from the 21st MT Reception Park. Ian
