Ken Lees Posted 19 May , 2004 Share Posted 19 May , 2004 Can anyone tell me what the prefix GS/ means in relation to a service number of the Royal Fusiliers? I have been looking at the MICs online and found a man who served in the Liverpool Regt, the Labour Corps and also as GS/125521 C/Sgt in the Royal Fusiliers. hmsk212 Posted 20 May , 2004 Share Posted 20 May , 2004 Hi Ken I think it was British Army - General Service Enlistment. There were several threads on the subject at the start of the year, type in Prefixes in the search section and I am sure that you will find the correct id of GS amongst the long lists. Cheers Steve
