Guest Rob2347 Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Hi All, We often mention their names, their numbers and regiments but do we or can we put a face to them? Here is Private 2777 Walter Glennen of The Lancashire Fusiliers. 1895-1980. It would be nice to see other pals. Rob
andyspiller Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Rob What a good idea . Do you, or other pals, or indeed our estimed leader, want to have a seperate area with size guidelines, biog details etc etc etc . Regards Andy

andyspiller Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Rob I'm no expert but I think that Chris needs to set some guidelines before we all wade in. Also this could provide valuable data for a Pals database if it is set up correctly in the first place. Regards Andy
gord97138 Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Rob: Great idea-puts some flesh on the man! Let's see if Chris can work something online for this! gordon
Chris_Baker Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Needs some thinking about, if it is going to be a useful research tool. Off to have my tea. Back soon.
andyspiller Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 Chris Thanks for this - seems we need some kind of form - Dob, DOD regt, bn, photo, service medals, decorations, post war service, cwgc ref, etc etc etc. Regards Andy
christine liava'a Posted 27 May , 2004 Share Posted 27 May , 2004 There are actually many photos of individuals already on this site, usually under Soldiers, but some in other sections To set up a section for photos of everybody who served in WW1, which is basically what you are asking, would be a tremendous task, and there are already sites out there from regiments, countries, memorials etc, which post this type of photo Maybe just an ongoing index to photos already on this site would be of more use.and new photos could still be posted, and added to the index. Guest Rob2347 Posted 2 June , 2004 Share Posted 2 June , 2004 Hi All, Looks like Christine has had the last word on this subject/idea. Still think it would have been great to have seen faces to their names on a dedicated are/section. Rob
