Will O'Brien Posted 28 May , 2004 Share Posted 28 May , 2004 Sidney also appears on the 1901 census...............at the time he & his family lived at 12 Rupert Avenue, Victoria Park Road, Smethwick............. Sidney's familt consisted of His father Robert aged 37 & born in Barkby Holt, Leicester. He was a Joiner/Carpenter by profession. His mother Alice aged 43 & born in Lyston, Leicester. She was a dressmaker & worked from home. Sidney also had an elder brother & sister. John, the brother was 14 years old in 1901 & an Engineers Machine Minder. He was born in Hoby, Leicester. Florinda, the sister was 9 years old & born in Smethwick like Sidney. We can deduce from this that the Taylor family were originally from Leicester & moved to Smethwick sometime between 1888 & 1893.
