PhilipH Posted 1 June , 2004 Share Posted 1 June , 2004 Apologies if this is an old chestnut but how much information does a soldier's personal number tell us? Can it be used to determine date, place, type etc etc of enlistment the soldier? Thanks
andyspiller Posted 1 June , 2004 Share Posted 1 June , 2004 Philip Have a look at the TFSG article on the mother site for one thing. Also there are many experts on this forum who will be able to give info on specific units if you give them some more detailed info. All in all this one is a minefield Regards Andy
Jock Bruce Posted 1 June , 2004 Share Posted 1 June , 2004 Phillip, the short answer is yes but that has to be heavily qualified - there are not many general rules, each regiment/corps did things differently. Best thing is to post the number and any other details here and see if we have a resident expert. Jock
