marsyao Posted 29 June , 2010 Share Posted 29 June , 2010 I by chance found Mr Gaetano V. Cavallaro's world war I trilogy "The Beginning of Futility", "Futility Ending in Disaster" and "Disaster Ending In Final Victory" http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Futility-G...d_bxgy_b_text_b http://www.amazon.com/Futility-Ending-Disa...d_bxgy_b_text_b http://www.amazon.com/Disaster-Ending-Vict...d_bxgy_b_text_c According to Amazon this is the first complete WW I Italy front history book written in English, I wonder whether there is any friend here has already read this book and could give me a review? kaiserknight Posted 30 June , 2010 Share Posted 30 June , 2010 Hello, I picked up the hardback trilogy a month or so ago. I have not started to read these as yet, but they look great! A real effort by the author!!! Mainly material from the Italian side, but plenty from the Austro-Hungarian to give a good balance. He is also working on a tv doco - not sure about any other details to date. Simply the work to reference with regard to the Italo-Austro Front!! Enjoy! Guest mirko74 Posted 19 November , 2013 Share Posted 19 November , 2013 Hello. this trilogy is definitely the best work in English on the great war in Italy. In addition to the isonzo front, tells in detail, the furious fighting after the breakthrough of Caporetto, on mount Grappa and Asiago, Piave until the end of the conflict.Good also the part that concerns the diplomatic aspect.Very, Very good.Bye
