Canadian Field Artillery Missing and Killed in action June 2/3 1916. Aged 22 years. Son of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Matthews, of 138, Warren Rd Toronto. Wigney's CEF Roll of Honour and here is the entry for Harold: Lieut Matthews, Harold Stratton 2nd Bde CFA Date of Death 3 June 1916 Age 22 KIA Previously in 1st Bde CFA You'll see where Wigney's info differs from yours. David_Bluestein Posted 3 June , 2004 Author Share Posted 3 June , 2004 The Matthews story is quite impressive actually. I have uncovered much detail into his Great War service. Matthews was wounded at the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915, and was regarded as a very capable officer.
