Hi

Could any one confirm that - 10580 SJT Frank Burton 5/Royal Berkshire Reg, was a POW during ww1 if so I would like to know the date & place of the action?

hello i am a new member and i am seeking advice and info on how to find out details on my granfather,GEORGE MEADLARKLAN who served with BEDFORDSHIRE REGIMENT during the 1st world war and was taken prisoner by the germans, i have 2 photos of him at the prisoner of war camp. after the war he went with his regiment to IRELAND and was involved in an incident relating to an escape of prisoners,i do have some info on this if anyone is interested,also i can forward copies of the photos to any interested persons. i would be grateful for any assistance in this matter,many thanks :D

Frank Burton was definitely a POW. Have a look at this link
