Chris Talbot Posted 7 June , 2004 Share Posted 7 June , 2004 Greetings and salutations I have an entry in a war diary for the Canadian Railway company giving a location as follows, B.I8.a4.0. this is somewere in the area of Boesinghe Does anyone have a map that shows exactly were this is as it seems very likely from the entry it's where my wifes grandfather was wounded and later died at no5 casualty clearing station on the 24th August 1917. Thanks in advance Chris
CROONAERT Posted 7 June , 2004 Share Posted 7 June , 2004 Chris. It's on the railway line basically just to the right and below the "e" of "cheapside" on this map. Dave.

FRICOURT Posted 7 June , 2004 Share Posted 7 June , 2004 Just out of interest CHEAPSIDE (one of the main streets in our little West Yorkshire town of Cleckheaton ) was named so by the 1/4 West Riding Regt , Cleckheaton Company who were in the line here from July to December 1915 and suffered many casualties.
