Please could somebody with access to SDGW please look to see if there were any KIA's for this battalion between 10.1.17 and 11.2.17.

Want to confirm whether the battalion came under fire during this period.

As always any and all help gratefully received.

Mark,

Thanks for the lookup, it confirms what the battalion war diary says for the same period 'nothing much to report'.

Thanks again

Steve,

From the history, 2nd Bn spent early January 1917 at Bailleuval and Le Souich, refitting and training drafts.

January 26th moved to Mondicourt and was employed on a new railway there.

February 5th marched via Humbercourt and Beaumetz to Achicourt where it moved into the line.

A Coy was in the front line, B Coy was in Agny and the remainder of the battalion in reserve in Achicourt.

There is no mention of casualties but the history does tend to just note when officers were killed or wounded.

Hope this may be of some help to you.

Bob.

Once again many thanks, as I've said on previous posts it all helps to add something to the story of the individuals I'm researching.
