Chris_Baker Posted 9 June , 2004 Share Posted 9 June , 2004 15017 CSM Robert Duffy served with the 16th (Service) Bn, the Highland Light Infantry (Glasgow Boy's Brigade). At some point he transferred to the Labour Corps, becoming 463854. I have all his medal docs, and believe his service records no longer exist. I would be grateful for an extra info on this man. Adam Harland Posted 9 June , 2004 Share Posted 9 June , 2004 As Sgt 15017 he is recorded in the bttn history in the roll of men going to france with the battalion on 23rd november 1915, and is therefore an 'original'. There is a photograph of the WOs and Sgts at gailes Camp in the book, but it does not have a nominal list, so I cannot confirm that your man is there, although it would seem most likely, and can be confirmed if you have access to another photo of him. There is no index to the volume, so I am afraid it is a full read to catch any reference to him, but it is a pretty well written book, so that should come more under pleasure than duty! Not a lot but i hope it helps Adam
