War13Memorial Posted 10 September , 2010 Share Posted 10 September , 2010 This book written by Colin McIntyre, ISBN 070904027X, has come to my notice. As someone very interested in War Memorials I am keen to know if this book is worth purchasing, it might be quite expensive. Any reviews ?. jennifer41 Posted 10 September , 2010 Share Posted 10 September , 2010 Hi Billy I bought it last year for my university project. As a beginner I found it easy to read, and full of examples supported by photographs and lists. You do not have to re- read a paragraph because you don't undertsand what has been written. I felt like I was on a whistle stop tour of memeorials with someone who had a passion for them but who didn't feel the need to get lost in detail. It is thanks to this book that I can't pass a memorail without considering - how are the names listed and why are thay like that? I would recommend beginners reading it - it really gives you a basis on which to build your own understanding of interpreting a memorial. Tom Morgan Posted 10 September , 2010 Share Posted 10 September , 2010 I agree - it's an excellent introduction to the subject of "war memorialling". Tom
