From SDGW:

Pte 1844 William Thomas Angling

Born: Rotherhithe, Surrey

Enlisted: Camberwell, Surrey

Residence: New Cross, Surrey

Died of Wounds

Formerly: 36216, North Staffordshire Regiment.

According to SDGW the 1st (Service) Battalion Royal Guernsey Light Infantry suffered 321 men dead, broken down thus:

Died: 25

Died of Wounds: 61

Killed in Action: 235

Of these 321 casualties, 26 had previously served in the North Staffs Regt.
