bmac Posted 14 June , 2004 Share Posted 14 June , 2004 C & D Coys, 1/2 Londons supported an attack on Hook and Long trenches NE of Guemappe at 7.20am on 14th June 1917. The attack was made by elements of the 3rd Division with the 2nd Londons supplying rifle and Lewis gun support. The trenches were taken with 175 prisoners. The Londoners lost 3 OR dead and 12 wounded. I assume Tank Cemetery was made in what was Tank trench immediately to the NE of Guemappe.
