Jonathan Saunders Posted 17 June , 2004 Share Posted 17 June , 2004 Browsing through the Ship's Log of HMS Vanguard at the PRO last weekend I came across the following entry: "Sent 1 STO to join party to visit Front in France". The inferrence was that a Naval party was being sent from sea-going duties to observe the action at the Front. Any ideas why this would have taken place and whether this was a common practice?
