I saw a posting in regards to men enlisted or from the town of Hawick that were KIA I think the number was 440 but that is from memory, but if the member that posted this item could please get in touch with me VIA the Forum I would be very greatfull. sandyford Posted 24 June , 2004 Share Posted 24 June , 2004 Derek Thank you for the picture of Pte. Read. I have no further information about him apart from the CWGC information. The War Diary lists named casualties individually until about October 1917 but after that it starts to group them into figure totals so Pte. Read has not been named in any of the Appendices. I was very pleased to have his picture because I have only been able to get pictures for a small number of the 6th Batt. O.R. Thank you again.
