9th Black Watch

Just wondered if anyone can tell me when this unit first arrived in France - 24 February 1915?

Best wishes,

Derek

Derek,

The 1/9th Royal Scots moved to Southampton on 23rd February 1915 from where they sailed on HMT Inventor for France. Landed at Le Havre on the 26th and on 27th they travelled by train to Cassel.

Regards,

Ken

I am not sure if this is out fo turn but the question concerned the 9th Black Watch and the reply was the 1/9th Royal Scots - different regiments I think.

The title of the thread is "9th Royal Scots" and the nom-de-plume of the original poster is "9th Black Watch".

I take your point tough. I probably just got it right by accident!
