BMoorhouse Posted 4 July , 2004 Share Posted 4 July , 2004 I wonder if any of the pals can help me identify the Regiment that this man served with. I attach the best image that I have. By way of background... he volunteered in the Lancashire area, and family 'word of mouth' history has him going to Ireland during WW1. I have another photo (group) with the men sitting next to iron pots and with a bucket painted "cook house". Any help would be appreciated. Brendon. BMoorhouse Posted 4 July , 2004 Author Share Posted 4 July , 2004 Thanks Phil. The badge seems spot on. It never ceases to amaze me how fast people reply to postings. What a brilliant forum this is. Can anyone comment on his rank and the stick he seems to be holding? Brendon.

HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 4 July , 2004 Share Posted 4 July , 2004 Can anyone comment on his rank and the stick he seems to be holding? a swagger stick. A decorative stick with a regimental crest embossed on it{probably loaned by the photographers studio for the purpose of the Photo};Usually carried by Officers & senior NCOs for "Walking Out"~Swagger being the operative word, giving them an air of superiority or "Swagger"
