Hiya,

I have been researching my great grandfather in law (see Sherwood Foresters)and seen a newspaper cutting of his death, his widow was notified by a Lieutenant Woodhouse. I have looked on the CWGC site and found this info.

Lieutenant Leslie Douglas Woodhouse, 17 btn Sherwood Foresters - died aged 26 3/9/1916.

Does anyone else have anymore info??

Kind Regards

Steve

Steve, his name appears in the 2nd June 1916 edition (Issue 29610) of the London Gazette:

Notts. & Derby. R.

Temp. Lt. L. D. Woodhouse, from a Res. Bn., to be temp. Lt. 20 May 1916, but

with seniority from 2 Aug. 1915.

Thanx for all your help on this matter, I was curious to find about the man who wrote to Mrs King regarding her husbands death.

unfortunatley he didn't survive the war either.
