This man was mentioned in Tommys which got better and better! He was a 37 year old lawyer when conscripted, driven to his induction by a chauffeur! THis is his 1922 book, anyone read it? Bet it would cost a fortune.

This interests me, I was a conscripted lawyer once also tho a lot younger at 24 and was driven to my induction by Greyhound Bus.

I think you will find he served in one of the service Battalons of the Royal Berkshire Regiment. I think he later became a member of Parliment for somewhere in birmingham (Thats of course if I've got the right man) If anyone comes through to you with knowledge of him I seek a photograpgh for a proposed photographic history of the Royal Berkshire Regiment that I am working on for the Regimental Museum. I will see what else I can dig up

Cheers
