flufffluff Posted 24 August , 2011 Share Posted 24 August , 2011 Hi All searching for information on my relative William George Nash, who was in the Duke of Cambrige,8th Battalian Middlesex. I have quite a lot of information from his records he was killed in action on 25th September 1915 France/Flanders. When he died he was left in a German trench along with B.E.F ( if anyone can let me know if this was a person or a term ) Body never recover. I would like to actually find out when he went to France on 9/3 1915, where the battalion was situated, and there situation and progress in the war/conditions. Most of all I would like to know where his Battalion was on the day of his death. Many thank in advance
pioneecorps Posted 24 August , 2011 Share Posted 24 August , 2011 Hi I take it you mean B.E.F when you say person or term, the B.E.F. as I know the: "British Expeditionary Force", same as in 1939 ( first one out there ). Concerning the Battalion Diaries you could try the Regimental Museum. Regards. Gerwyn
