FROGSMILE Posted 29 August , 2011 Share Posted 29 August , 2011 Hi, can someone confirm if these are standard for WW1 Officers? Obviously private purchase... Thanks Chris They were not standard for all theatres Chris, but appear to be a grey shirt commonly worn in India when on operations as a kind of 'field dress shirt', normally with knee length shorts, thick knee socks and chaplis (a robust leather sandal with studded leather soles). as worn when in 'marching order' with troops on operations. The other is a khaki drill service dress tunic, also of a pattern used in India and other hot climes.
