Guest ler4 Posted 15 July , 2004 Share Posted 15 July , 2004 Hello, I'm new to this site so hope I am in the right area. I would like to find information about my husband's grandfather, Arthur Albert Newton Cooke. We know he was born in Huntingdon 24/12/1898 and that he served in the Great war. I have found a medal card in the name Arthur A N Cooke (which I am assuming is his as 3 forenames seem unusual) and it says he was a private in the West Kent regiment and received the Victory and British medals. However there is no entry in the theatre of war line or anything other than his regiment number which seems strange and perhaps someone could explain what that would mean. We know that in 1920 he was in the Paddington area of London but after that the trail goes cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
